Sometimes, it is useful to make longer magnetic rods out of two or more single magnetic rod. Just connect the magnetic rod ends directly together, WITHOUT a connector ball between them. You will find that when you bring two rod ends together, they will sometimes attract, and sometimes repel. If one of your connections repels, just turn ONE of the rods around and use the other end. (All magnetic rods are manufactured to have both a North and a South end.)
